Crystal Walker was born on October 13, 1962, to parents William Walker Sr and Arlene Carter. Her father, a dedicated Illinois state police trooper, played a significant role in her upbringing. Keymáh’s religious background was rooted in Catholicism.

Keymáh became a Mary Wong Comedy Group member throughout her secondary education and commenced demonstrating her vocal and choreographic abilities at the tender age of three. Upon concluding her secondary education, she embarked on her academic journey at the esteemed School of Business and Industry at Florida A&M University.


Keymáh began her professional journey in the entertainment industry by working in theater productions. In addition to acting, she has also ventured into film production and directing. Notably, she was a founding member of the cast of the popular Fox show “In Living Color,” where she portrayed various memorable characters such as “In Black World” and Cryssy.

In addition to her roles in films such as Jackie Brown and Chi-Raq, she has made appearances in numerous episodes of widely acclaimed television programs like Quantum Leap, The John Larroquette Show, Soul Train, My Wife and Kids, and many others’ outstanding talents garnered her two Image Awards for her excellent performance.

Aside from her roles as an actress and producer, Keymáh has authored many books in her career. She has also co-hosted several events, including the Orange and Aloha Bowl parades and the national ACT-SO awards.
