Robert Kiyosaki is the son of Marjorie O. Kiyosaki and Ralph H. Kiyosaki in Hilo, Hawaii. He is of Japanese American descent. He has three siblings: Emi Kiyosaki, Jon Kiyosaki, and Beth Kiyosaki. His father worked as an educator and mentor.
Robert completed his high school education in 1965 before enrolling at the Naval College. He later obtained his MBA degree from Hilo, Hawaii.
Professional Career
Robert began his business career as a salesperson at Xerox Corporation until 1978. Subsequently, he made the decision to establish his inaugural venture, “Rippers,” in the same year. Unfortunately, he encountered setbacks and ultimately declared bankruptcy.
In 1996, Robert and his wife, Kim, initiated their inaugural collaboration by introducing the board game CASHFLOW, aimed at educating individuals on money management and investments.
The concept stemmed from their belief that it offers an engaging and informative approach to financial literacy. The following year, in 1997, Robert made a pivotal decision that would alter the course of his life: he authored the book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ and established The Rich Dad Co.
