Jon Taffer’s full name is Jonathan Peter Taffer. He is an American TV personality and entrepreneur. His journey began in Great Neck, New York, U.S., where he was born on November 7, 1954.
He gained recognition for his role as the Face the Truth on CBS with Vivica A. and the host of the reality show Bar Rescue on Paramount Network.
Early Life & Education
Jon was born to Russian parents (Yvette Taffer) in Great Neck, New York. He completed his early education from high school in 1972 and then attended Denver University. While initially pursuing cultural anthropology and political science, he made a sudden decision to leave his studies behind and relocate to the vibrant city of Los Angeles.
Professional Career
Jon started his career in 1973 by working as a bartender while performing as a drummer in a band. His first job was at The Troubadour nightclub in 1978, where he had complete authority over the bar operations, and later opened his bar in 1989.
He got a patent for a new music system in 1989 and later came up with the idea for the NFL Sunday Ticket. This idea made a lot of money for both Taffer and the NFL. Because of what he did, Taffer was on the board of NFL Enterprises for a long time.
He was appointed president of the Bar Media Group and Nightclub, which gave him leadership of the Bar Magazine and Nightclub as well as the Bar Convention and annual Nightclub.
He launched his podcast name, No Excuses, where he conducts interviews with famous guests and discusses current affairs. He also has a chance to host a Face the Truth CBS television series.
Karen Kelly and Jon Taffer collaborated on Raise the Bar: An Action-Based Method for Maximum Customer Reactions, which was published in 2013. Taffer has created a bar management app called BarHQ.
Taffer began hosting the CBS television series Face the Truth in 2018. In 2023, Jon Taffer announced the introduction of his bourbon brand, Taffer’s Browned Butter Bourbon, in Las Vegas.
