Dominique Moceanu is a retired American gymnast. Her full name is Dominique Helena Moceanu. Her journey began in Hollywood, Florida, in September 1981. She gained recognition as a prominent figure in the Olympic Gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team in 1996 in Atlanta. She won the all-around silver medal in 1992 at the Junior Pan American Games, winning the junior national championship in 1994.

At the U.S. National Championships in 1995, she became the youngest gymnast to secure the senior all-around title at 13. Notably, she was the youngest participant in the 1995 World Championships and the victorious 1996 Olympics team, ultimately concluding her Olympic journey as the final gymnast to compete at 14.

During her teenage years, Moceanu attended Northland Christian School and later pursued her education at John Carroll University, where she obtained a business administration degree in 2009.

Dumitru Moceanu and Camelia Staicu Moceanu are the parents of Moceanu. She has two sisters, Christina and Jennifer. Moceanu was previously married to Dr. Michael Canales, a gymnast. Together, they have been blessed with three children.
