Jessie Vargas, a professional boxer from the United States, was born in Los Angeles, California, in May 1989. He obtained his education from Palo Verde High School. He is happily married to Celesia Vargas. Together, they have been blessed with five children: a son named Manuel Vargas and daughters named Alberta Vargas, Anita Vargas, Lillian Vargas, and Olive Vargas.

He has participated in competitions as both a light welterweight and a welterweight. He won the US Junior National Champion twice and the Mexican National Champion twice. Vargas had an impressive amateur record of 120-20 and was also a 2008 Mexican Olympic team member. 

In 2008, he made his professional boxing debut and emerged victorious against Joel Gonzalez. In 2013, Jessie Vargas defeated Wale Omotoso, securing the vacant WBC Continental Americas welterweight title and maintaining his undefeated record of 22-0. In 2014, he triumphed over Khabib Alkakhverdiev, claiming the WBA and IBO super lightweight titles.
